Biodegradation of 2,4,6-Trinitrotoluene by White-Rot Fungus Irpex lacteus
White-rot fungus Irpex lacteus degraded TNT significantly in proportion to the culture time. After 48 h incubation, about 95% of TNT was degraded. Two reduced metabolites were identified as 4-amino-2,6-dinitrotoluene (4-ADNT) and 2-amino-4,6-dinitrotoluene (2-ADNT) which was further degraded.
متن کاملKinetics and Energetics of Azo Dye Decolorization by Pycnoporus sanguineus
Trypan Blue, an azo dye, was decolorized using the self-immobilizing fungal biomass of Pycnoporus sanguineus. The extent and the rate of dye decolorization were directly proportional to the initial dye concentration (20–60 mg L) and the reaction temperature (25–45°C). Mass transfer within and outside the pellets did not limit dye degradation. The apparent kinetics of the decolorization reaction...
متن کاملProduction and characterization of tyrosinase activity in Pycnoporus sanguineus CCT-4518 Crude extract
Tyrosinase is an enzyme of industrial interest. The production and characterization of tyrosinase from P. sanguineus CCT-4518 were investigated. The selection of inductors, luminosity influence, inoculum size and type of culture medium on the production of tyrosinase and the effect of inhibitors on enzyme activity were performed. Optimum conditions for intracellular tyrosinase production was ob...
متن کاملUse of sugarcane molasses by Pycnoporus sanguineus for the production of laccase for dye decolorization.
Pycnoporus sanguineus is a white-rot basidiomycete that produces laccase as the only oxidoreductase; enzyme synthesis depends on cultivation variables, and fungal species and strain. Laccases have wide substrate specificity, oxidize a broad range of compounds, and show potential for use in dye decolorization. We evaluated laccase production in a recently isolated strain of P. sanguineus cultiva...
متن کاملTitle Optimization of laccase production by Pycnoporus sanguineus in submerged liquid culture
The white-rot fungus Pycnoporus sanguineus produces laccase under a range of C/N ratios in submerged liquid culture. Enzyme production was increased 50 fold in the presence of 20 FM xylidine to a maximum of 1368 U L-I in a high carbon low nitrogen medium. Slight repression of enzyme production was observed in high nitrogen culture medium. Other potential inducers were less effective (Tween 80, ...
